Testing the Alarm: Ensure your alarm is functional by following these simple steps:
1. Install the batteries in an area with clean air, then press and hold the test button for five seconds. A beep indicates normal operation.
2. Place the unit in clean air for one minute.
3. Put the detector in a sealed bag, spray in some smoke or CO gas, seal it, and wait one minute. The alarm will activate if functioning correctly.
Note: Do not conduct a test by burning materials directly beneath the alarm, as this is not a valid test.

How to Silence the Alarm:
- For Smoke Alarms: When your smoke alarm sounds, press the test/silence button to enter mute mode. To exit this state, press the button again, or it will automatically exit after six minutes or when it detects clean air.
- For CO Alarms: The CO alarm can only be silenced when clean air is detected. If high levels of CO remain in the environment, the alarm will continue until the air is cleared.
Note: If the unit sounds continuously, it indicates a malfunction. Reinstall the battery and repeat the procedure until it operates normally.
